Upon finishing high school, Captain Jacob D. Kight immediately enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2004. Active with the service for eight years until 2012, he advanced through the ranks to become a sergeant and also served as a field service representative in Afghanistan for more than one year until 2014. In search of his next move, Captain Kight desired to find a way to combine his love for both fishing and real estate, as he had always been fascinated with construction and development. Notably, he attained a captain’s license in 2014 and a real estate license in North Carolina in 2021.
With a fishing background, Captain Kight quickly found a home within the marshes of Swansboro and Emerald Isle in North Carolina. In 2014, he spearheaded Inshore Addiction Charters, which offers a variety of fishing trip options and eco-tours tailored what the customer desires to see, do and catch. Having devoted his free time to learning the waters and catching fish, Captain Kight offers inshore and nearshore fishing charters to target red drum, trout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead and more.
Reflecting on his career thus far, Captain Kight considers his most notable achievement is coming from an upbringing reliant on government assistant to becoming an entrepreneur and self-employed professional. He is also honored to have been featured in a local sports magazine, as well as the recipient of Navy/Marine Achievement Medals with combat distinguish in 2005 and 2007. Captain Kight attributes his success to hard work, persistence and a great support system. In five years’ time, he aims to have his own fishing show.
